TEST REPORT FOR PILE LOAD VERTICAL LOAD METHOD

The initial static load test on the pile was carried out to determine the vertical capacity of the test pile of 600 mm diameter for the construction column pipe plant in Astral Limited at the Dholka Plant.

Pile Head Preparation

The pile head was chipped off to cut off level to the natural horizontal plane till sound concrete is met, and the top surface was finished smooth and level with mortar material.

Loading System

1 No. of hydraulic jacks of 150 MT capacity and a pressure pump with a pressure gauge of 600 kg/cm2 and least count of 5 kg/cm2. The test is conducted by the anchorage method of loading. Load on the pile was applied by 1 No. of hydraulic jacks of 150 MT capacity, placed over the furnished pile head, and reacting against a steel Joist of Composite ISMB section. The applied load will be measured in the pressure gauge or load gauge mounted on the hydraulic pump. The vertical load applied to the pile is measured by a calibrated pressure gauge.

Measuring System

Dial gauge of 25 mm range with an accuracy of 0.01 mm Settlement was measured by four dial gauges placed diametrically opposite to each other and fixed to a datum bar. The datum bar was housed with two spikes at the end of the datum bar embedded well into the ground. Datum bar supports were at a distance of 3*D (subject to a minimum of 1.5 m) from the edge of the piles, where D is the pile stem diameter of circular piles.
