Test Pile
The test is conducted at the cutoff level. Pile is furnished to receive the jack at this level and a displacement dial gauge at its opposite end.
Loading System
Loading is applied by a hydraulic jack of adequate capacity, abutting the pile horizontally
Measuring System
Lateral load applied to the pile is measured by a calibrated pressure gauge. Dial gauge/sis fixed to datum bar at the opposite face of the pile in axis with loading jack. The purpose of this dial gauge is to record the displacement at the axis of load, which is the actual pile cut-off level. The dial gauge of 25 mm has a least count of 0.01 mm. The datum bar has been housed with two spikes at the end of the datum bar embedded well into the ground.
